Posted by u/tdcoda1 4 hours ago Got An Absolutely Insulting Raise Today I've been with this company for 12 years. I know how to do more than half the jobs in the plant. Even though I only have one job in particular, I'm always willing to go to any other job/run any other machine that I know how to. I make my quota every single day outside of when there is mechanical issues. I've never gotten into an argument with my foreman, I've never gotten into an argument with other coworkers, I help out my

Until a year ago, once you hit the top pay step at the company, all you received was a meager cost of living raise per year (usually 2-2.5%). The company has now decided there will be NO cost of living raises going forward. Every individual employee will be evaluated based on their performance, and they will get a yearly raise between 0 and 5%.

My raise was 0.5%. That comes out to 14 cents an hour. That's $291 a year before taxes. My gas an electric bill is $275 a month. This raise after month of taxes doesn't even pay one utilities. My foreman's reasoning was because I don't volunteer for enough overtime, and because I was written up last year for calling out more than the 2% per hours worked we're allowed to once we've used up our sick time.

So, I'm absolutely done. I'm over it. Quiet quitting time. I do my job only. I run my machine only. No more trouble shooting my machine to get it back up and running quickly to meet my quota. If I have the smallest issue, I'm calling for a mechanic and sitting my down. Helping out my coworkers when I'm not required? No more. I know it's not |. I'm not going above and their fault, but beyond anymore.

And before someone says "look for another job", trust me I have. This is the highest paying job by around $5 an hour I'm qualified for within 50 miles. I've been here 12 years so I have five weeks a year of vacation time. And this company still offers a pension. Look....I know I probably have it better than a lot of people on this sub, but I just had to vent about this. A 0.5% raise from a company that has a Mkt cap of 6 billion dollars is a joke.

No_Debt5142. 3 hr. ago act your wage. reminds me when i had the new manager in our shop try to offer me a whopping $2 to stay working at the company when the company i was going to offered me $15 more per hour. his reasoning for only being offered $2 more was that "im young and that i dont need to be making so much money and that i was already making more than everyone there". i cant believe a sane person would say that 271 Reply Share

Swedeman 1970 - 3 hr. ago I would dispute it and ask for a management review. The person giving the raises has a dollar amount he can give and he gave yours to someone else. Vote Reply Share ...

Film_Grundrisse589 · 3 hr. ago Sorry this happened to you! And regardless of how other folks have it on the sub, you're well within your right to feel this way. Hopefully you find something soon and like someone else posted, "time to act your wage!" and I hope you have fun doing it and it least takes some stress off of you 21 Reply Share
